Meaty and juicy at the same time. It’s just all flesh, flesh, flesh… There seem to be enough seeds, but the seed locules are tiny. You’ll struggle to find seeds to save.

And about the taste. When cut, the tomato has these bright pink veins. And the taste gives the impression that they mixed the bright, rich, sweet taste of a good pink tomato with the characteristic taste of a dark tomato. The taste is rich, interesting, and very sweet. Here on this page, they compared the taste of Black Heart with a Spout from Borisovna with the taste of Brad’s Black Heart. Both are very tasty, just different flavors. Brad’s Black Heart has a more typical “black tomato” taste.

The yield is wonderful. And that’s for me, and I generally have problems with yields. The only thing is, my fruits grew with blunt noses. I didn’t get that elegant pointy nose.

And a little about the survival conditions. The tomatoes grew outdoors in open ground without canopies or other shelters. They safely ripened on their own on the bushes. And this was during such an extreme summer this year! For us, summer started at the end of May and ended on the first of July.
