It was developed from the &#8220;Campine&#8221; family (a cross between <em>Rosella Purple<\/em> and <em>Pink Berkeley Tie Dye<\/em>). Named &#8220;Adelaide Festival&#8221; in honor of the arts festival held in Adelaide, South Australia.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf3f <strong>Plant Habit:<\/strong> A classic Dwarf\/tree-type plant with dark, rugose (crinkled) regular-leaf foliage. It grows compact and bushy, usually reaching around 0.5\u20131 m (1.6\u20133.3 ft) in Open Ground. Surprisingly for a dwarf, some growers note it can look slightly less stocky and a bit &#8220;lankier&#8221; than other Dwarf Project varieties during the seedling stage. Technically indeterminate in its growth habit, but stays compact.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf45 <strong>Fruit Characteristics:<\/strong> Stunningly beautiful, medium-to-large beefsteaks. The base color is a rich purple\/mahogany, overlaid with striking metallic green stripes and a fine iridescent dusting.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udc45 <strong>Flavor:<\/strong> Good, well-balanced classic tomato flavor. Most growers note a pleasant balance of sweetness and tartness, with some reporting a more pronounced tangy kick.<\/li>\n<li>\u23f3 <strong>Maturity &amp; Sowing:<\/strong> Mid-season. Yields are very good for such a compact plant. Regular leaf. The fruits are beefsteaks, very beautiful, sparkling, pink-purple in color with green metallic stripes and dusting. Grew in Open Ground, reached a height of 0.5 meters (1.6 ft). The yield for Open Ground was very good. I actually pushed my sowing date back to the end of February, sowed them on the 27th, and they are already flourishing. Otherwise, I always ended up having to plant out overgrown monsters.
