Kushnareva.<\/p>\n<p>Alena, the yield was already above average. But the taste is different. <em>Wolford Wonder<\/em> lacks a bit of tartness, which is why (in my conditions), during this year&#8217;s cold and rainy summer, its flavor &#8220;wandered&#8221;\u2014the tomatoes were sometimes bland, sometimes sweet. Very productive, but for me, this was the only variety where the shoulders didn&#8217;t ripen (hard green shoulders). This naturally affected the taste; I had to cut off and throw away a third of the tomato, and the remaining flesh was dense with some white marbling inside. Overall, I&#8217;m disappointed&#8230; Maybe it was my oversight, maybe some mistake on my part, but I won&#8217;t repeat this variety.<br \/>\nSeeds from V. One in the greenhouse, the other outdoors. Outdoors, it didn&#8217;t drop blossoms, but the tomatoes on the upper trusses didn&#8217;t reach maturity, and in the second half of August, green shoulders appeared. In the greenhouse, it failed to set fruit on the 2nd and 3rd trusses, but the upper ones were loaded and had no hard shoulders. So the yield was average in both cases. But when I tasted this tomato, I immediately decided that it is the gold standard of taste for all other varieties. Very delicious!<\/p>\n<p>I think, Irina, you shouldn&#8217;t give up on this tomato. This year wasn&#8217;t a good one to judge varieties by. My seeds were also from V. Just eating it by itself went down a treat, but in a cucumber salad, it seemed a bit bland. I wanted to add a slightly more tart tomato for balance. There were more tomatoes on the first truss, I already picked them. As with most tomatoes for me, the first truss is full, and the higher ones are smaller. This is most likely due to our heatwave of 2018 and a lack of nutrition\/watering. It was sick with something, the leaves were drying out at the edges, which I periodically removed. At first, I rejected it and decided not to plant it. But then, because other varieties didn&#8217;t fit into the greenhouses, I decided to pack them in tighter in the second greenhouse and plant 40 bushes instead of 34.<\/p>\n<p>And so African Vining got a spot in the corner, right against the polycarbonate. It sat deep in thought for a very long time, but then eventually reached the ceiling and set a few fruits. So the yield turned out to be below average.<\/p>\n<p>Today was the first tasting (sown April 4th). I liked its taste more than <em>Wolford Wonder<\/em> (it was often compared to it earlier in the thread); it is more balanced in taste and not as bland. Today I also tried the first tomatoes of <em>Mrs. Schlaubaugh&#8217;s Famous Strawberry<\/em>, and African Vining tastes more like that one.
