The tomato is early, absolutely not fussy (low maintenance), and set fruit perfectly in the cold. The yield was decent, even in my inexperienced hands. The taste is good, no hard green shoulders, and they didn&#8217;t crack. The seeds are from a neighbor, who originally bought them in a store. I googled it \u2014 it&#8217;s a Sedek (Russian seed company) tomato. It bears fruit flawlessly always, in both heat and cold, wet summers. It ripens the very first; <em>Sanka<\/em> ripens about a week later. I don&#8217;t keep strict records, so I can&#8217;t say exactly in days.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder how the Polish Atol differs from it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Description of Atol from Sedek:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Early (95-110 days); variety for open ground and film tunnels. Suitable for direct sowing (without starting transplants indoors) in short-season zones (zones of risky agriculture). The plant is determinate, medium-leafy, 50-60 cm (20-24&#8243;) tall. Requires moderate suckering\/pruning. The fruits are large, round, red, weighing 120-150g (4-5 oz), firm, with high dry matter content, crack-resistant, very tasty and sweet. Value of the variety: unfussy to grow, cold-tolerant, resistant to stress and adverse weather conditions, successfully combines earliness, yield, and marketability, transports perfectly over long distances. Recommended for fresh consumption and processing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For me, the tomatoes are smaller (up to 100g \/ 3.5 oz), the taste is an ordinary tomato flavor, I didn&#8217;t notice any special sweetness. Maybe Sedek was selling Polish seeds? Atol and Alka (also a Polish variety, differed a little in fruit shape, but otherwise very similar) were my earliest; they ripened earlier than <em>Siberian Early<\/em>. Next year I plan to plant them in open ground.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t save seeds, but I really should have, to have my own stock. The Poles, unlike our seed companies, pour seeds into the packet very generously, which is why I didn&#8217;t bother saving them.
