The commercial company &#8220;SeDeK&#8221; sells an <em>Aisberg<\/em> that is a short, early determinate with round fruits. However, the much more famous and sought-after heirloom (popularized by breeder V. Syrai) discussed in this thread is a <strong>massive, indeterminate, ruffled pear\/pouch-shaped tomato<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf3f <strong>Plant Habit (Heirloom Strain):<\/strong> Indeterminate (tall). An incredibly vigorous and powerful plant. In a greenhouse, it can easily outgrow the roof (reaching 2+ meters \/ 6.5+ ft). It sets fruit relentlessly all the way to the top of the vine. Requires heavy-duty staking and support!<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf45 <strong>Fruit Characteristics:<\/strong> Large, red, deeply ribbed pears or &#8220;pouches&#8221; (similar to <em>100 Pudov<\/em> or <em>Puzata Khata<\/em>). Average weight is 200-400g (7-14 oz). The flesh is very meaty, yet retains plenty of juice and seeds.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udc45 <strong>Flavor:<\/strong> Outstanding. Sweet, rich, and often described as having a &#8220;melon-like&#8221; texture. Syrai. Here is what he writes about it: <em>&#8220;Bush: 1.5 \u2013 1.8 m (5-6 ft). Fruit \u2013 red, very large pear-shaped plum\/pouch, weighing 200 \u2013 400 g (7-14 oz). Among similar shapes, it stands out like the &#8216;Tsar Bell&#8217;, possessing an amazing taste, melon-like flesh, and very high yield.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I liked this tomato in every aspect: appearance, yield, and a taste with pronounced sweetness. The fruit is firm and meaty, although there are plenty of seeds in the locules. The bush itself grew very tall in my greenhouse, but it set fruit all the way to the very top. Syrai grows his in the south outdoors and claims 1.8m, so in our northern region, you should expect that height in a greenhouse.<\/p>\n<p>I compared the fruits with famous pouch-shaped varieties like <em>Puzata Khata<\/em> and <em>100 Pudov<\/em>: they look similar at first, but as they swell, you can see the difference\u2014Aisberg is somewhat wider\/stretched horizontally, which is clearly visible in the first photo and the photos from Syrai.<\/p>\n<p>Judging by the ripening time, it is not an early variety. I sowed seeds on March 10th, and it started ripening by mid-July. The trusses had 2-3 fruits if they were huge (up to 350g\/12 oz), or up to 7 fruits if they were smaller.<\/p>\n<p>And here are the photos from V.F. Super high yielding \ud83d\ude4c. It&#8217;s early, but despite that, it is very tasty, juicy, and sweet \ud83d\ude0b (but not cloyingly so). This is a variety for a guaranteed harvest \ud83d\udc4d. Absolutely unfussy and disease-resistant. It doesn&#8217;t need pruning and stays short. I just really, really liked it \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\udc4d. I grew it for the first time in 2014 from Galya-64&#8217;s seeds. I liked it, and everyone I shared seeds with liked it too.<\/p>\n<p>I repeated it in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>I grew 2 plants: one in the greenhouse, one outdoors. In the greenhouse, it went on strike a bit and dropped the first blossoms, but then it started setting fruit. It grew to the ceiling, found a gap, and crawled outside.
