The name simply translates to “Armenian”.

🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall), but generally has a somewhat frail, wispy, or “weeping” bush structure. Despite the delicate foliage, it has incredibly strong fruit stems (pedicels), meaning the heavy trusses rarely need extra support. Throws a ton of suckers.

🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Stunning orange-red bicolors. Oblate (flattened) shape, turning slightly heart-shaped higher up the vine. They are massive, routinely hitting 400-600g (14-21 oz). The interior is beautifully marbled and almost entirely seedless (making seed saving a challenge!).

👅 Flavor: Absolutely top-tier. Extremely sweet, juicy, and fruity. Many growers consider it a “dessert” tomato.

⚠️ Growing Tip: Like many large, sweet bicolors, it is a slow starter (mid-late to late season) and is prone to radial cracking around the stem end, especially if watering is inconsistent or after heavy rains. Requires full sun to develop its best flavor.

🍅 Grown this variety? Click here to add your own photos and review below!

S

Sandr (Alexander) 🌱 Member (339 posts)

A bicolor variety that I liked very much.
