Sometimes grown under the translated name &#8220;Tulip Pink&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf3f <strong>Plant Habit:<\/strong> Indeterminate and late-season. Reports on its growth habit vary: some growers note a wispy, fragile structure (up to 1.5m \/ 5 ft), while others report vigorous bushes. It requires plenty of sunlight and absolutely hates being shaded or planted too closely together. Best pruned to 3 main stems.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf45 <strong>Fruit Characteristics:<\/strong> Gorgeous, ribbed, elongated fruits shaped like a classic tulip glass. They ripen to a pearlescent pink color and weigh 200-300g (7-10.5 oz). The flesh is incredibly dense, meaty, and almost entirely seedless with very little gel. Because of this, they are fantastic for long storage, canning, freezing, and sun-drying.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udc45 <strong>Flavor:<\/strong> Highly dependent on growing conditions. Without proper care, the fruits can be dry and bland. However, with adequate sunlight and proper feeding, they develop a tender flesh with a beautifully balanced, sweet flavor.<\/li>\n<li>\u26a0\ufe0f <strong>Growing Note (Not for Beginners):<\/strong> This is a very finicky, high-maintenance variety. Early in the season, it is prone to excessive vegetative growth (too much nitrogen) and dropping blossoms. It requires regular feedings with potassium fertilizers to successfully set fruit and develop a sweet flavor. I got the seeds from a fellow collector.<\/p>\n<p>The bush has a thin, wispy structure, growing up to 1.5m (5 ft) in the greenhouse. The fruits are shaped like a long tulip glass with ribs, weighing 200-300g (7-10.5 oz), pink in color. It is a very beautiful but very finicky variety.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, it dropped blossoms heavily until I increased the feeding (up to 2 times a week with a weak solution of a potassium-rich fertilizer). It reacted very well to the potassium. After that, it set fruit perfectly with no dropped blossoms. Even though I grew only one bush, I harvested quite a lot of fruits from this handsome plant.<\/p>\n<p>The first fruits were bland and a bit tough. But after the feedings, the taste changed completely\u2014the flesh became tender, with a balanced flavor and good sweetness. I\u2019m attaching a photo after saving seeds. There are almost no seeds in the fruits, literally just a few in each, and some had none at all.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Plant it and forget it&#8221; is definitely NOT about this variety. Despite the thin, frail structure of the bush, the plant was quite sturdy and didn&#8217;t cause any special problems. It bloomed and set fruit as it should, but for some reason, the fully sized fruits took a very long time to color up. There were 3-5 fruits per truss, weighing up to 200g (7 oz).<\/p>\n<p>The shape and color of the fruits are very beautiful, and the shape of every single fruit is unique. The flesh is dense, with very little gel and seeds. But unfortunately, the taste disappointed me (especially compared to other varieties growing nearby). Throughout the whole season, it was bland.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe the bad weather this summer affected it, as the variety is sensitive. I admit that I probably should have increased the feeding for this variety, but it received the same amount as all its neighbors, which turned out very sweet and flavorful. Even despite its beauty, I don&#8217;t like planting tomatoes that require extra high maintenance and attention. Especially when there are alternatives. I really wanted to grow this variety, if only for its beauty. I planted three bushes, and fortunately, they all survived the hardships of this difficult summer, although they did throw tantrums.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the season, they went into heavy vegetative growth (all leaf, no fruit) and dropped their blossoms, but then they came to their senses. Crowded planting, like I have, is definitely not for them; they tolerate shading very poorly. The bushes are vigorous, they need more space. It&#8217;s optimal to prune them to 3 stems and grow them in a greenhouse\u2014the variety is quite late. It sets fruit slowly and ripens slowly.<\/p>\n<p>But I really liked the fruits themselves\u2014beautiful, meaty, a pearlescent pink color, almost seedless, and quite tasty. They are excellent for storage, sun-drying, freezing in chunks, canning, and processing. Out of greed, I even rooted the suckers and planted them in the shade by the fence. They were later, but they still produced fruit.<\/p>\n<p>However, I didn&#8217;t really like the taste itself. I understood that this variety had quite contradictory reviews, but I decided to try it anyway.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at it, touched it, tasted it&#8230; and drew my conclusions. I will not grow it again. Most of the harvest (which was very weak), even in the greenhouses, I had to pick unripe. Naturally, this affected the taste.<\/p>\n<p>It is very late, especially for my region. I see no point in messing around with a variety when there are earlier and more productive alternatives.
