It is named after “Plombir,” which is a famous, rich Russian vanilla ice cream. The name reflects the tomato’s pale, creamy white/yellow color.

🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate, but generally medium-tall, usually topping out around 1.5m (5 ft). Performs adequately in both greenhouses and open ground. Highly praised by some for its strong resistance to Late Blight.

🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Pale, creamy-colored oblate beefsteaks. While the seed packet advertises 150g (5.3 oz), growers report varying sizes ranging from quite small up to 300g (10.5 oz). Extremely poor shelf life (not a keeper).

👅 Flavor: The flavor profile is highly debated. Some appreciate its slightly buttery texture and tart aftertaste. However, many growers complain that the flavor is too “pastel,” muted, or bland, making it difficult to use for fresh eating or canning.

⏳ Yield: Generally rated as average to slightly below average (typically around 1.1 – 1.5 kg / 2.5 – 3.3 lbs per plant).

🍅 Grown this variety? Click here to add your own photos and review below!

S

Sweet (Svetlana) ⭐ Pro Grower (8,792 posts)

📍 Belgorod region (USDA Zone 5)

Description from the packet: “A magnificent large-fruited mid-early variety for open ground and plastic greenhouses. The variety is very resistant to late blight (it didn’t even get sick, even though everything around it caught it). It grew in poor soil, yet still yielded 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs) of fruit.
