I planted two bushes. Right when it started to ripen, I had to leave home for two months to visit my daughter and babysit my grandson. I kept in touch with my husband, of course.<\/p>\n<p>One day he tells me: <em>&#8220;A tomato variety started ripening, but it takes real effort to slice. It literally squeaks under the knife.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, September rolls around, and I come back. I go look at my tomatoes, and there they are\u2014these beauties, Babushkino Lukoshko. The bush is strong and tall. My husband managed the pruning as best as he could. The fruits are beautiful, perfectly uniform, with lots of both red and green ones hanging.<\/p>\n<p>But guys&#8230; it really DOES squeak when you cut it! It\u2019s rigid, almost like a cucumber. The flavor is just plain tomatoey, definitely not the sweetest.<\/p>\n<p>Long story short, the entire harvest went straight into processing and canning. I don&#8217;t really understand why breeders create such super-hard tomatoes&#8230; Maybe I just don&#8217;t know the proper culinary use for it.
