It took a long time to get going and the yield turned out to be quite modest. Seeds from Galya-64. I didn&#8217;t expect such a great taste from it, I thought they were just icicles for canning. But they have a sweetness to them, very tasty and fresh. The only thing is the variety turned out a bit late in open ground for me, although the summer was not great either.. But it is very productive. I didn&#8217;t prune\/sucker it at all. It grew into a beautiful, bushy, quite sturdy plant about 1m (3.3 ft) tall. For a determinate, it started ripening quite late (in early August). But I sowed it late &#8211; at the end of March. As a seedling, it is very tidy; you could sow it earlier and transplant it already with flowers, maybe then it would ripen sooner.<\/p>\n<p>My yield for many varieties is so-so. My plant care is lacking. But Pink Fang looked very impressive &#8211; completely covered in trusses. The fruits are quite large, averaging 100g (3.5 oz), of an unusual shape. And they are very, very meaty. The taste is characteristic of pink tomatoes, no worse than a good large pink beefsteak.<\/p>\n<p>There were 2 problems. The first few fruits were hit by Blossom End Rot (BER). But it wasn&#8217;t critical. I didn&#8217;t treat it, it passed on its own. The second problem is worse: the moment of ripening coincided with a period of heavy rains. The fruits are dense and meaty, but the skin is thin &#8211; almost all of them cracked\/split on the vine.
