If a leaf is encroaching on a neighboring plant, don’t rip the whole leaf off. Just cut the leaf in half with scissors! This reduces its physical footprint but leaves half the “solar panel” attached so the plant can still generate energy.
2. “Topping for Suckers”: Valery is doing something very specific here. When a tomato gets hopelessly tall and leggy indoors, you can slice the main growing tip off completely. However, you MUST leave at least one leaf below the cut. Why? Because a new side shoot (called a sucker) will eventually emerge from the “armpit” of that remaining leaf, giving you a shorter, stockier plant!

📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Pruning Crowded Seedlings ✂️ Trimming for Space: If large seedlings are shading out smaller ones, you can prune them.
