Nano-tomatoes! The bushes are tall and just absolutely smothered in trusses of tiny fruit. My grandson loved them. I&#8217;ll grow it again just for him. But next time, I&#8217;m putting it in the flower bed because the bush is gorgeous, but it takes up way too much space in the vegetable garden. It can grow there and be eye candy. The fruits set and grow very fast. The beginning of the truss already has little tomatoes while the middle is still flowering. Mine isn&#8217;t extremely tiny. I really like it for canning jars. By the time I dress the salad, carry it to the table, and serve it on plates, the little tomatoes have thawed to the perfect consistency. Because of its thick skin, Thumbelina holds its shape better than any other tomato when thawed. It didn&#8217;t have thick skin at all. \ud83d\udc4d<\/p>\n<p>A colleague gave me the seedlings, but I remember the packet she had looked exactly like the one in my photo. Indeterminate, truss-type. Grown for 3 years, and the result is exactly the same every time: a great, fluffy, short little bush, about 24 inches (60 cm) tall. Starts fruiting early, is constantly in bloom along with its suckers, and finishes very late. Simple trusses, up to 7 flowers each. In the super-tomato year of 2018, we harvested the very last tomatoes on November 1st.<\/p>\n<p>We loved the taste, my daughter even picked them to sell. They don&#8217;t split at the stem. Grew it one year under cover and 2 years outdoors in open ground, and I&#8217;m sowing it again. It looks absolutely nothing like the picture on the original packet, which means it&#8217;s an off-type &#8220;gift&#8221; from the seed company. Gift accepted! It&#8217;s so fluffy because we didn&#8217;t prune the suckers &#8211; it grew in 3 main stems right from the soil line.
