Sow seeds indoors in mid-to-late March. Pot up the seedlings at the first true leaf stage. Transplant into the greenhouse in early to mid-May at 45 days old. Staking or trellising is mandatory a few days after transplanting. Prune to a single stem, removing all suckers. The fruits are oblate in shape, with a perfectly smooth surface, weighing 4.5-5.3 oz (130-150 g). Intended for canning and absolutely fantastic for fresh salads. The plants set fruit very well even with early planting dates. Plant spacing is 16&#215;24 inches (40&#215;60 cm).
