It was first grown by my great-grandmother. It just stuck with us, and we plant it every single year.<\/p>\n<p>The fruits are elongated, thick, weighing from 7 to 16 oz (200 to 450 grams) when grown in a greenhouse. When fully ripe, they are a deep, saturated yellow &#8211; almost orange. They are tasty, meaty, sweet, and mainly used for fresh salads. The shape is an elongated oval, reaching a maximum length of about 4.7-6 inches (12-15 cm) and a diameter of 2.3 inches (6 cm).<\/p>\n<p>The yield on the bush varies every year &#8211; if the climate cooperates, there&#8217;s a lot, but if the weather is bad, the yield isn&#8217;t great. However, they are absolutely worth growing just for the taste alone, even in a bad harvest year. You remember how stubborn they were as seedlings \ud83d\ude2b I only had 5 seeds, and they only sprouted on the second attempt, taking 10 days or even more to finally pop up.
