Initially released by seed companies like “Sortsemovosch” and “Uralskiy Dachnik”. While sometimes commercially labeled as an F1 hybrid, it has been widely circulated as a stable open-pollinated heirloom among growers.

🌿 Plant Habit: Indet. Sturdy and relatively compact for an indeterminate vine, often stopping around 5 to 6 feet tall depending on conditions. Known for being quite disease resistant.

🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Medium to large oblate beefsteaks, typically weighing 7 to 12 oz (200-340 g). They ripen to a yellowish-bronze blush on the outside while retaining vibrant green flesh inside. Unlike many GWR varieties, they hold up reasonably well on the vine without immediately turning to mush.

👅 Flavor: Sweet, juicy, and very meaty. It sparks a lot of debate among growers, who constantly compare it to the famous Malakhitovaya Shkatulka (Malachite Box).

🍅 Grown this variety? Click here to add your own photos and review below!

D

Drosera (Svetlana) ⭐ Pro Grower (5,413 posts)

📍 Yekaterinburg (USDA Zone 3)

Irish Liqueur is an indeterminate green-when-ripe variety.
