Procuring seeds from a trusted private collector is crucial to getting the real thing!

🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall), but somewhat well-behaved. It generally stays around 4 to 4.5 feet (1.2-1.4 m) tall. It is renowned for setting fruit in extreme cold and heat without dropping blossoms.

🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Large, blocky yellow-orange oxhearts. When fully ripe, the true strain often develops a beautiful pink blush on the blossom end. The flesh is incredibly dense, meaty, and buttery with very few seeds. Sizes typically range from 10 oz up to massive 2.5 lbs (300 g to over 1 kg) beefsteaks.

👅 Flavor: Classic sweet yellow tomato profile. In 2014 I put up a greenhouse and planted a whole 4 bushes of my “favorite” tomato. What grew out was worse than supermarket tomatoes! Hard as rocks and completely bland. I didn’t eat a single one fresh. Good thing I can use them for canning, everything went into the jars.
