Its genetics are notoriously unstable, leading to a massive debate among growers.

🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall). It is an incredibly vigorous vine that requires staking. The biggest quirk of this variety is that a single seed packet will often produce a 50/50 mix of Potato Leaf (PL) and Regular Leaf (RL) plants!

🍅 Fruit Characteristics: A stunning green-when-ripe (GWR) bicolor beefsteak. The skin stays mostly green/bronze while developing a bright red “target” blush on the blossom end. They typically weigh in at 7-10.5 oz (200-300 g).

👅 Flavor & Use: When fully ripe, it has a rich, honey-sweet, and complex flavor typical of top-tier green bicolors (often compared to Malachite Box or Ananas Noire). Read the forum thread below to see how Russian growers try to solve the mystery of its mutating leaf types!

🍅 Grown this variety? Click here to add your own photos and review below!

L

Lidiya (Lidiya) ⭐ Pro Grower (16,152 posts)

📍 N/A

Krasnaya Mishen (Red Target)

T

tomatinka (Vera) ⭐ Pro Grower (14,911 posts)

📍 Tyumen Region (USDA Zone 3)

Mine look a bit different.
