These fungi attack the vascular system of the plant, blocking water uptake, which perfectly explains why the main stems are drying out while the rest of the plant struggles to survive.

How to fix a “tired” greenhouse:
Since moving a heavy glass or polycarbonate greenhouse is often impossible, growers have a few options:

Topsoil Replacement: Remove the top 8-10 inches (20-25 cm) of soil and replace it with fresh, disease-free compost and topsoil.

Heavy Cover Cropping: Sow White Mustard or Winter Rye heavily in the fall. Mustard acts as a natural biofumigant, actively suppressing fungal pathogens in the soil when chopped and tilled in.

Grafting: Graft your favorite heirloom tomato varieties onto disease-resistant commercial rootstocks. The rootstock will simply ignore the soil pathogens, allowing the plant to thrive in “tired” dirt!

{ "@context": "https://schema.org", "@type": "DiscussionForumPosting", "headline": "Wild Mushrooms and Tomato Problems in an Old Greenhouse", "datePublished": "2021-08-18T10:07:00+03:00", "author": { "@type": "Person", "name": "gala7496", "url": "https://www.tomat-pomidor.com/profile/61096-gala7496/" }, "interactionStatistic": { "@type": "InteractionCounter", "interactionType": "https://schema.org/CommentAction", "userInteractionCount": 5 }, "text": "Morning everyone!
