Redko. Medium-tall vine, fruits run from 14 oz up to 2.2 lbs (400 g – 1 kg), orange color. Outstanding salad variety. Incomparable taste, the flesh just melts in your mouth. For me it was early, reached about 4.5-5 ft (1.4-1.6 m) tall, heavy yielder. All the fruits were perfectly round, beautiful globes. Honestly, the flavor seemed a little on the bland side to me, very few seeds, the first trusses had practically none at all. This one in the pic grew from a megabloom.

Edited January 29, 2015 by Drosera

G

Galya-64 (Galina) ⭐ Pro Grower (4,414 posts)

Tanya, your Apricot turned out looking absolutely incredible!!!! It usually tops out around 4.5-5 ft (1.4-1.5 m) in a greenhouse. Produces gorgeous, perfectly round, bright orange beefsteaks that typically range from 14 oz to a massive 2.2 lbs (400 g – 1 kg). Under environmental stress, the plant may terminate early.

📈 Yield: Exceptionally high, especially for an early-season beefsteak. Growers report vines becoming completely loaded with fruit, performing best when pruned to 2-4 main stems.

👅 Taste: Dense, meaty, and nearly seedless flesh that melts in the mouth. It is generally praised as a top-tier sweet and fruity slicer, though a few growers noted the flavor can wash out and become bland if the weather is too cold, cloudy, or rainy.

📦 Hardiness: Performs exceptionally well in greenhouses, giving its heaviest yields there, but also reliably produces outside in the dirt. Highly susceptible to producing gnarly, ribbed fruit if grown from a megabloom (fasciated blossom).

<!-- ===== 5.
