Huge thanks for sharing this miracle with us, Tanya (Tatunya)!

It’s an early one, pumping out massive heart-shaped fruit. You’ll often see fused or megabloom hearts pushing over 2 lbs (1 kg)—literally the size of a dinner plate! They are incredibly delicious, sweet, aromatic, and extremely meaty with almost no seeds. It combines exceptionally early production with gargantuan, plate-sized pink hearts that regularly hit the 2 lb mark, particularly from megablooms. Growers consistently praise its dense, nearly seedless meatiness and classic, sweet heirloom flavor. With relatively tame vines (topping out around 5-6 feet) that pump out fruit nonstop until frost, it has become a highly prized strain saved from extinction by dedicated forum members.

Have you grown Maminy?

Share your experience, yield data, or photos! This variety is a classic example of the "rescue and preserve" seed-saving culture prevalent on Eastern European gardening forums, where unnamed family strains from harsh climates are traded and stabilized. Its origin in Omsk (Siberia, USDA Zone 3) explains its unusual trait of being incredibly early despite producing massive 2-pound fruits, a combination rarely found in North American heirlooms outside of dedicated short-season breeding lines. -->

At a Glance Fruit: Massive pink hearts, frequently throwing 2+ lb megablooms.
