I think you mentioned that earlier. You really can’t get by in gardening without talking to others 🙇‍♀️, so many questions come up 👋. I actually had one yesterday. Has anyone grown the Rhodes Heirloom tomato? It gets rave reviews in the variety threads. But for me this year, it didn’t produce a single tomato. Just kept flowering. 😡 I’m wondering if I did something wrong. I want to try it again next year. Same thing happened with Rugantino—first year was a dud, but this year it was a beauty with gorgeous tomatoes. It had a good spot this year and I took good care of it. 😎

Galina, Rhoades Heirloom is a bi-color, right? I started with Nature’s Riddle (Zagadka Prirody) about 10 (or a bit more) years ago. I was absolutely blown away by its beauty and yield. But not the taste! It was just a bit too bland for me… but I’m super picky. Since then, I’ve tried a ton of bi-colors. The only one I can truly praise is Burracker’s Favorite. Absolutely delicious. But the skin is prone to cracking 😞

This past season, I actually decided to make it the “Year of Bi-colors and Yellows!” My goal was to finally pick 2-3 permanent varieties from this category, because year after year my husband tells me: ONLY CLASSIC REDS AND PINKS.

Golden Königsberg; photo: TatianKa

Well… it wasn’t a year, it was a total disappointment!
