Growers note that it is virtually identical to another popular variety called <em>Slavyanka<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf3f <strong>Plant Habit:<\/strong> Indeterminate and incredibly tall (easily reaches the greenhouse roof), but it has a very distinct &#8220;slender vine&#8221; habit. It doesn&#8217;t grow wide or bushy, which allows for very dense planting (some growers plant up to 7 plants per square meter \/ ~1 plant per 1.5 sq. ft).<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udf45 <strong>Fruit Characteristics:<\/strong> Beautiful, elongated pinkish-red plums\/icicles. They usually weigh up to 80g (2.8 oz) and feature very thick, meaty walls.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udc45 <strong>Flavor &amp; Texture:<\/strong> Sweet and excellent in taste. While they are great for fresh salads, their true calling is processing.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83c\udfaf <strong>Best Uses:<\/strong> The absolute perfect shape and size for whole-fruit canning in jars. Thanks to the thick walls, they are also phenomenal for making sun-dried tomatoes.<\/li>\n<li>\ud83d\udcc8 <strong>Performance:<\/strong> A true &#8220;workhorse&#8221; variety. It produces early and continues fruiting right up until the first frost. Redko.<\/p>\n<p>This year I also grew a variety called <em>Slavyanka<\/em> from the Gisok seed company, and it turned out to be a complete analogue of Topklipsa; I couldn&#8217;t find any differences. It didn&#8217;t grow wide and bushy, but set excellent trusses. Didn&#8217;t catch any diseases. It is the ultimate canning variety, and because the walls are so thick, it&#8217;s also perfect for sun-drying. Quite productive, sweetish taste, weight up to 80g (2.8 oz). It grows right next to <em>Bonaparte F1<\/em>, and their fruit load is almost identical (Bonaparte just a tiny bit higher). This is a true &#8220;workhorse&#8221; variety, it sets a massive amount of fruit with zero skipped trusses. As for the plant habit\u2014it is a very slender vine, taking up very little space, which easily allows you to plant up to 7 plants per square meter (~1 plant per 1.5 sq ft) without them being too crowded.<\/p>\n<p>The taste is mostly for canning, but you can definitely use it in salads too. The shape and size are ideal for whole-fruit canning.<br \/>\nI received it as a bonus gift in a seed order, which made me very happy.
