I grew Red Cherry outside in the open dirt. It is very tiny, almost pea-sized, though it is indeed sweet. Produces a huge amount of fruit. However, it was the very first one to catch Late Blight, despite my spraying. It was the first plant to get yanked out of the garden bed and thrown away.. The bush is vigorous and sprawling, takes up a lot of space. In my opinion, it doesn’t belong among normal tomatoes because there’s just not much point to it. There are much better cherry tomatoes out there.
If we are comparing tomato size, then Red Cherry is farrr from the smallest out there, but in terms of taste, it surpasses many “normal varieties”. Plus, I had it interplanted with Vishnya Zholtaya (Yellow Cherry), which produces fruits that are 3 to 4 times larger with the exact same excellent taste…………………. well, just to have a bit of variety to pick from.
