Quick Summary of Rozovyi Izyum (Pink Raisin)
- ⚠️ Important Note: Do not confuse this variety with Rozovyi Izyumnyi (Pink Raisin Beefsteak). This is a completely different, cocktail-sized tomato!
- 🌍 Origin: A highly sought-after heirloom originally sourced from Ukraine. The name translates to “Pink Raisin”.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Semi-determinate. It stays relatively compact, growing up to 1-1.2 m (3-4 ft) tall in a greenhouse. However, it takes up a lot of horizontal space because it produces massive, fan-shaped “multiflora” trusses.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Beautiful, pink, teardrop-shaped cocktail tomatoes. The fruits are very firm and hold exceptionally well on the vine without dropping or deforming.
- 📈 Yield: Absolutely insane! Growers report harvesting a full 5-liter (1.3 gallon) bucket from just a single plant.
- 👅 Flavor & Usage: Pleasant, classic tomato flavor. While great for fresh snacking, its firm texture makes it an absolute top-tier variety for whole-fruit canning and pickling (especially in sweet marinades). It also looks stunning in exhibition displays.

The yield on this is absolutely crazy! :hey: They are beautiful pink “teardrops” of cocktail size. Moderately firm. They can easily hang on the bush for a long time or sit in storage. The taste is normal/pleasant. It became one of my favorites this season.
In the greenhouse, the plant stayed around 1.2 m (4 ft) tall. I pruned it to a single stem and it grew in a dark, shaded corner near the northern entrance of the greenhouse.

I’ve been growing it since 2010… my original seeds came from Ukraine. It is super productive and not very tall (if grown in a greenhouse, it rarely exceeds 1 m / 3.2 ft), producing massive, fan-shaped multiflora clusters. I usually prune it to 2-3 stems, and the entire crop manages to ripen on the branches.
The fruits are firm, have a quite pleasant taste, and hang on the branches for a long time without deforming. (I usually bring this variety to agricultural exhibitions—it looks incredibly beautiful on display!)
And for canning, especially in a sweet marinade/brine… it is simply amazing! :niam: :yep:

Rozovyi Izyum has such beautiful trusses. The very first clusters are huge, though the later ones tend to be a bit smaller for me. This year it grew outdoors, but my photos are from last year when I grew it in the greenhouse.
I had a bush growing in the greenhouse, but it didn’t perform well there. It bloomed gorgeously, but many blossoms didn’t set fruit. However, outdoors it just grew perfectly on its own and demanded zero attention. I will only plant it outdoors from now on.
Rozovyi Izyum grew in my polycarbonate greenhouse, pruned to a single stem like almost all my new varieties. Honestly, with such massive clusters, you should probably just give it a whole corner to itself! ;D
The bush seems short, but it takes up a ton of space horizontally. Imagine if I had let it grow into 2 stems! :ogo: Thank you to Natalya for the seeds. The tomatoes aren’t large, but they are tasty. The photo shows just a single truss.

A good, tasty little tomato… Mine grew outdoors in the open ground. When I sat down to make a photo collage, I realized all my pictures of it were a bit blurry… but it is what it is! :dnt:
