Quick Summary of Blue Suede Shoes

- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate, vigorous, and powerful. It is a sprawling plant that requires plenty of space and strong support. It is highly recommended to leave it unpruned (do not remove suckers) after the first truss to maximize its incredible yield potential. It thrives both in greenhouses and outdoors (open ground).
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Large cherry tomatoes weighing 20-30g (0.7-1 oz), though late-season fruits get a bit smaller. They are bright red with striking dark purple/blue anthocyanin shoulders. The most unique feature is its skin—it has a slight velvetiness (peach fuzz / Angora gene), making the name “Suede Shoes” perfectly fitting.

The bush is tall and vigorous. You can leave it unpruned after the first truss; it is desirable to allocate a lot of space and a good support system for it—and then it will grow into an indescribable beauty, bringing joy right up until the frosts, even outdoors in open ground.
The trusses are short and beautiful, consisting of 6-10 round red tomatoes with anthocyanin near the stem, weight 20-30g. The last fruits of the season get smaller. The taste is closer to a good, classic tomato flavor; some of them turned out to have a distinct sweetness.
One bush grew in the middle bed in the greenhouse opposite the entrance—an excellent place for it. Now it is tied right up to the roof, completely covered in blue spheres. Another one grew from a sucker (side shoot) planted at the end of June, and it is still growing outside by the gazebo. It hasn’t caught a single disease, I only covered it during frosts. The skin has a slight velvetiness (fuzziness). A very beautiful variety! If it were just a bit sweeter, it would be absolutely priceless…
