Blushing Bride Tomato Review

📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Blushing Bride

  • 🌍 Origin: A well-known American heirloom variety. It is widely traded among European and Ru collectors under the direct translation “Zastenchivaya Nevesta” (Shy Bride).
  • 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall), but generally considered very compact and well-behaved for a climbing vine. It is not an aggressive grower and is easy to manage in a greenhouse without constantly fighting the canopy.
  • 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Large, beautiful bicolor beefsteaks. The skin is yellow-orange with prominent red and pink blushing. Average weights usually fall in the 7 to 14 oz (200-400 g) range.
  • 👅 Flavor: Highly dependent on sun exposure! If grown in a shaded or cool spot, it can taste a bit bland. But if given a prime, full-sun location in the greenhouse, it develops a rich, sweet, and delicious flavor.

Blushing Bride (USA). Seeds were from Popenko. The bush is a compact indeterminate, not aggressive at all. As of right now, it hasn’t even reached the greenhouse roof. Not a very heavy yielder for me. Fruits weigh around 7-14 oz (200-400 g). The taste is honestly a bit bland. I’ve had other bicolors that tasted way better than this one.

This is my absolute favorite variety 😋. It grew in the best, sunniest spot in my greenhouse, which is exactly why it turned out so beautiful, tasty, and was such a heavy yielder 👍.
