An old family heirloom variety from Italy. I got the seeds from an American collector who sent them to me as a bonus and highly recommended giving them a try.

I really loved this variety—meaty red fruits with a rich, perfectly balanced tomato flavor and a lovely sweetness 😋 They are slightly ribbed at the stem end (shoulders). According to the collector, the fruits can reach up to 1 kg (2.2 lbs). Mine were around 200-400 g (7-14 oz). I didn’t really prune or shape the bush much, which is probably why the fruits didn’t get exceptionally huge.

The bush in the greenhouse wasn’t tall—about 1-1.2 m (3.2-4 ft). It was vigorous, had regular leaves, and ripened mid-season.
