Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zones 3-7 Experience)
Really interesting new variety, kinda falls right between a cocktail and a cherry. Grew a single plant outside. Tall, early season. Fruits are round, green-ochre colored (literally look like olives) with dark red flesh. Averaged about 0.7-1.1 oz (20-30 g). Produces massive trusses, unbelievably heavy yielder. Flavor is bold and memorable, nice sweet-tart balance.

Grew my Evil Olive outside. Bush stayed pretty short, under 3 ft (1 m). Was a super sturdy seedling. We had a garbage summer with barely any heat, but this plant still put in the work. Set beautiful little greenish-ochre spheres on complex trusses. Had to check for ripeness by giving them a gentle squeeze, they soften up when ready. Taste is good, on the sweeter side.
Big shoutout to Lena (@LenaV) for the seeds!
Had to plant this funky little cherry, really wanted something quirky to grow this year 😁 from the name down to the color. Grew it in the greenhouse. I stopped pruning suckers after the first truss. Big mistake, really should’ve kept it to 2-3 main stems and topped it earlier. It threw out a ton of huge trusses 👋, but the top ones just ran out of time to ripen. It’s a vigorous indet, super healthy, gorgeous large clusters 👍.
Fruits are round, olive-colored, up to 1.2 oz (35 g), sweet-tart and crunchy. Never got the red centers, probably just didn’t get enough heat and sun, summer was practically non-existent. Seeds inside are tiny. Props to Sofia 27 for sending me these 🙏!

Full Summary: Plant Habit, Yields, and Flavor Profile
- 🌿 Plant & Foliage: A vigorous, early-season indeterminate vine. To manage its massive, complex trusses, growers highly recommend pruning to 2-3 main stems and topping the plant early. Left unpruned, it may set more fruit than it can ripen before the first frost. Outdoors in cooler climates, it can stay relatively compact (under 3 feet).
- 🍅 Fruit & Shape: Perfectly round cocktail/cherry tomatoes. The exterior ripens to an unusual green-ochre or olive color, while the interior flesh develops a striking dark red (if given enough heat and sunlight). They range in size from 0.7 to 2.1 oz (20 to 60 g). Ripeness is best determined by gently squeezing the fruit rather than relying on color alone.
- 📈 Yield & Health: Exceptionally productive. Throws out huge, heavy clusters and shows strong general disease resistance, even in poor summer weather or under poly tunnels.
- 👅 Taste: Delivers a bold, memorable sweet-tart punch. The skin is on the thicker side, contributing to a satisfying crunch. Seeds are notably tiny, though one grower felt they were abundant. Flavor can become slightly more acidic towards the end of the season.
