📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Galaktion
- 🌍 Origin: A highly sought-after modern anthocyanin (antho) variety popular among Eastern European collectors.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall). An incredibly vigorous and productive plant that performs exceptionally well both in greenhouses and outdoors. Like most antho varieties, the fruits develop the darkest, most striking purple/black colors when exposed to direct sunlight.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Gorgeous, large beefsteaks weighing up to 1.1 lbs (500 g). They feature dark, anthocyanin-splashed shoulders that bleed down into a rich red/crimson body. It also proved to be an excellent keeper, storing well into late autumn.
- 👅 Flavor: Universally praised for its outstanding taste. It is notably sweet, perfectly balanced, completely devoid of sharp acidity, and boasts a rich, fragrant tomato aroma.
- 💡 Grower’s Tip: Growers note that it adapts surprisingly well to container gardening outdoors, often producing even larger and darker fruits than when grown in a greenhouse.

Indeterminate. A very successful anthocyanin (antho) variety 👍. It has it all—high yield, excellent flavor with noticeable sweetness 😋, and the most beautiful appearance, especially when hit by direct sunlight.
Grown outdoors in a pot, the fruits were actually larger and darker blue 😁 than the ones in the greenhouse. Fruits reached up to 1.1 lbs (500 g). Along with ‘Elena’s Ibiza Beefsteak’, they were an absolute feast for the eyes all season long; the last one kept well in storage until early November.

+1. Very, very tasty, the sweetness is perfectly balanced, there is absolutely zero acidity, and the aroma is a fragrant, classic tomato smell. It has definitely earned a permanent spot in my garden.
