Gloria Tomato Review

Seeds were received from Galochka. Unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of the bush, only the tomatoes. The bush is of medium height, requires staking, the maters are uniform, ripen fully, and are red. A miracle of taste, an unsurpassed combination of sweetness with a tiny dose of tartness. That little tartness gives you the urge to eat another tomato, and then another. For all this, we gave the variety a 5 out of 5.

I also couldn’t find a photo of the bush in my files. I told everyone that Gloria is a semi-det (grew up to 4 ft / 1.2 m for me). But that was from older seeds. This year I planted 7 bushes (that’s how many seeds I had left from last year’s save), and three of the bushes acted like true indets (they just kept growing up and up, constantly setting fruit).

Yay, I found one! Tasty, sweet, juicy little tomatoes 😋 Grew one bush in the greenhouse to 2 stems, indet (grew all the way to the ceiling), yield is good. The fruits seemed a bit too soft for canning, but for fresh eating, juices, and sauces – absolutely perfect! 👍 Galochka, thanks for the seeds and the recommendation for this variety! 🌺

A piece of my Gloria bush, it was also an indet, 5.5 ft (1.7 m) tall. Very tasty, we gobbled them up right there on the spot in the greenhouse, which is why I don’t have a photo of a ripe one.

My Gloria seeds were from GALYA ESME (may she rest in peace), or rather from Nadya, her daughter. Sowed them out in the open dirt in mid-April, transplanted to their permanent spot in early June. Indet, started ripening in mid-August. Fruits are pinkish-red, large (up to 10.5 oz / 300 g). Possibly because of the cold nights, they developed concentric cracking (circular cracks around the stem). Very tasty, I kept harvesting them right into October. It’s on my favorites list now.

My Gloria in the hoop house also turned out quite large (up to 8.8 oz / 250 grams), very tasty, and sweet. The bush was up to 6.5 ft (2 meters) tall.

I really liked the GLORIA variety. My seeds were from the “Dachnik Podmoskovya” online store.

The bush is vigorous, highly foliated, fruits are clustered 4-6 together. Heavy yielder, set fruit without skipping any blossoms. Fruits are round, red. Meaty, tasty, with a very pleasant aftertaste.

To this day, many of the varieties sent by Galya (Esme) bring me joy. And Gloria is one of them. It performs excellently both in the greenhouse and out in the open ground.

I’m looking at these and I don’t get it—why is Gloria almost perfectly round for some people, but for others it’s an elongated, pepper-shaped tomato 🤷‍♀️ So which one is the real one? I grew one just like Ilya’s, a large icicle/elongated paste shape, taste was excellent, yield was very respectable.

It’s entirely possible that two completely different varieties exist under the same name.

Grew Gloria from Galya Esme’s seeds again, a very high-yielding indet 🙌
