Indeterminate, heavy yielder. The fruits are striped red-and-green beefsteaks, pretty decent size with an average weight up to 10.5 oz (300 g). They are very meaty, incredibly unique, and gorgeous. The flavor is really good. I grew these out in the dirt. My seeds were from R. Kraft.

Kozula 24 did fantastic in the greenhouse. It turned out highly productive on a tall vine with a mid-season ripening window. The fruits were medium to large oblate slicers, sporting a purple base color with green striping. Very juicy and meaty, sweet, but with a nice little acidic kick.

I grew this in the greenhouse. The vine is sturdy and tall, and all the tomatoes were large and perfectly uniform. Gorgeous and delicious!

My photos are from early and late August. It’s a prolific, mid-season, fantastic-tasting variety. I grew it in the hoop house pruned to two stems, and it kept pumping out fruit right until October without dropping a single blossom. The green ones ripened up nicely on the counter and still held onto a really decent flavor.

Poltava here. Grew it outdoors. The plant topped out around 3 ft (1 m). The yield wasn’t massive, but this is my first year trying it.Up until early September, the taste was just so-so, nothing to write home about. But starting in early September, it got incredibly tasty. A great sweet-and-sour balance where the sweetness really takes the lead. It’s juicy but definitely not watery.

Absolutely stunning tomatoes on this one. They are delicious—sweet but with a slightly tart, complex bite. The vine is tall and sturdy, and the yield is stellar. I really loved it.

Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage

  • 🌿 Plant: A robust, tall indeterminate vine that can easily reach the top of a greenhouse. If grown outdoors, it tends to stay a bit shorter (around 3 ft / 1 m). It features excellent stamina, pushing out flowers and setting fruit continuously until late fall.
  • 📈 Yield: Generally rated as high to excellent. It is a reliable workhorse that sets perfectly uniform trusses without skipping or dropping blossoms, even late into the season.
  • 👅 Taste: Complex and rich. The flavor profile is a dynamic sweet-and-sour mix where the sweetness ultimately takes the lead. It has a juicy, meaty texture. Note that the flavor tends to improve drastically as the late summer/early fall temperature shifts occur.
  • 📦 Storage: Notably good for a beefsteak. Growers report that late-season green fruits ripen up very well indoors on the counter without turning to mush or completely losing their flavor.
  • 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Grown successfully across multiple climates, from Zone 3 (Siberia) to Zone 6 (Caucasus). It adapts well to both greenhouse and open-field growing, though greenhouse plants will be significantly taller and more productive.

👨‍🌾 Editor’s Note: The Kozula Lines
The “Kozula” tomatoes are a famous ongoing breeding project started by Anna Jankowski (known online as Kozula), a Polish tomato breeder. She created hundreds of hybrid crosses (each assigned a number) and shared the seeds globally for gardeners to stabilize. Kozula 24 is one of her beautiful striped dark lines, beloved for crossing robust disease resistance with phenomenal heirloom flavors.
