Starburst Nebula (Zvezdnaya Tumannost)
A fairly rare, large-fruited mid-season variety. The bush grows to about 5 – 5.2 ft (1.5-1.6 m) and taller. The fruits are beautiful, oblate (flat-round), and canary yellow with red stripes radiating from the top like sunbeams. They weigh up to 14-18 oz (400-500 g), very meaty and sweet. The flavor is just fantastic. It is also a very heavy yielder.
👨🌾 Editor’s Note: The “Starburst” Pattern
The name of this variety perfectly describes its appearance! Like many elite bicolor beefsteaks (such as Virginia Sweets or Nature’s Riddle), the red marbling doesn’t just sit on the bottom of the fruit. Instead, it streaks up the ribbed shoulders of the canary-yellow tomato, creating a striking visual that looks exactly like a radiating star or a sunburst. Because it is so meaty and visually stunning, Starburst Nebula makes an ultimate sandwich slicer!
