Raspberry Dawn tomato – mid-season, tall indeterminate vine for growing outdoors in the dirt or under cover. Needs staking and pruning. Days to maturity from sprouting to first harvest is 110-115 days. Fruits are heart-shaped, smooth or faintly ribbed, with thin skin and gorgeous, juicy raspberry-colored flesh, weighing 12-14 oz (350-400 g). Incredible flavor and aroma. Highly recommended for fresh eating.
Mine actually turned out even bigger. All the tomatoes were super heavy.
Delicious, but I honestly wouldn’t exactly call them raspberry-colored.
Full Summary: Plant, Yield, and Flavor
- 🌿 Plant: Indeterminate vine, mid-season maturity. Can be grown both outdoors and under cover, but requires solid staking to support the massive fruits.
- 🍅 Fruit Size & Look: Beautiful, smooth, heart-shaped tomatoes. The seed packet claims 12-14 oz (350-400 g), but growers report fruits regularly exceeding this weight. Despite the name “Raspberry Dawn”, the color often leans more toward a classic deep red rather than a true pink/raspberry shade.
- 👅 Taste: Rated highly for its rich flavor and aroma. The flesh is extremely meaty and juicy with thin skin, making it an excellent slicer for fresh eating.
