📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR): Zheltyi Perets (Yellow Pepper)
- 🌍 Origin: A Russian commercial/heirloom variety. The name simply translates to “Yellow Pepper,” referencing its bell pepper-like shape and completely hollow interior.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall). An aggressive and highly productive plant with a very long fruiting season.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Bright yellow, heavily ribbed, bell-pepper shaped fruits weighing up to 5 oz (140 g). The walls are incredibly thick and firm, but the interior is entirely hollow like a bell pepper.
- 🥫 Best Uses: This is a classic “stuffer tomato”. It is purpose-built for scooping out the tiny seed cluster and baking it stuffed with rice, meat, or cheese. Its dry nature also makes it elite for dehydrating (sun-drying). Excellent post-harvest storage.

Zheltyi Perets (Yellow pepper). Indet, a highly unique variety with yellow, completely hollow fruits weighing up to 5 oz (140 g). The outer walls are very thick and firm, its main purpose is for stuffing (for example, baked with rice and meat).
Very productive, in a greenhouse it’s best to prune it to 2-3 stems, has a very long fruiting window, and it stores exceptionally well.

Very unusual. A dry tomato like that would probably be absolutely perfect for dehydrating/sun-drying.
👨🌾 Editor’s Notes:
- Stuffer Tomatoes: “Stuffer” tomatoes like Zheltyi Perets carry a specific genetic mutation that causes the fruit to grow like a bell pepper. The seed gel is clustered tightly around a central core, leaving the thick, firm outer walls completely separated from the seeds by a large pocket of air. You just pop the core out with a spoon, and you have a perfect, edible bowl ready to be stuffed with cheese, rice, or ground meat and baked in the oven!
