Quick Summary of Utomlennoe Solntse (Weary Sun)
- 🌍 Origin: A beautiful heirloom variety originating from Ukraine. The name translates to “Weary Sun” (a reference to a famous vintage Russian tango song).

Utomlennoe Solntse (Ukraine) – variety (mine is from Yaroslavna), indet, tall, I led it in two stems, height in the greenhouse is 180-200 cm (6-6.5 ft). The fruits are bright yellow, round, and on the bottom there is a pink “sunburst”! The fruits are juicy, tasty, sweet, weighing 300-500 grams (10.5-17.6 oz). The largest one was 504 grams (1.1 lbs). It set fruit evenly all season, ripened evenly, and the yield is good.

Lidiya, for some reason I couldn’t find a photo of it sliced. On the first fruits, there was no such bright “sun”, I had to pick them before full ripeness because the fruits split the stem with their sheer weight, but it didn’t affect the yield. The subsequent ones had these sunbursts – they ripened completely on the vine.

Strange, my Weary Sun is bright orange and there is no “sun” blush at all. 😳
I liked the variety… This was the first one – also no pronounced “sun”, but subsequent fruits had the sunburst. The largest was about 600 g (1.3 lbs). Unfortunately, I didn’t take pictures – either didn’t have time, or gave them away as gifts. The yield was good – there were about 12 of them. But there was one bush, about 10 days ago it started to wilt very badly – I already pulled it out.
The taste is sweet.. Really loved its translucent flesh – everyone noted it..
I liked the variety, if only the yield was higher in our conditions, it would be absolutely perfect. Large, even, beautiful and tasty, meaty, tender, didn’t crack. The yield was quite small this year. But I will definitely try it again.
In my conditions, it turned out productive, quite early, I took the photo on the bush on July 3rd. Sweet, tender, very cute because of the sunburst. Good variety.
For some reason I don’t see the photo on the scale with a single tomato, the weight was 250-350 grams (8.8-12.3 oz).
