📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR)
- 🌍 Origin: A well-known elongated plum/paste tomato variety, often grown for sauces and processing.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Determinate / Semi-determinate. A mid-late season variety that grows relatively compactly, reaching about 0.8 m (2.6 ft) when grown outdoors in open ground.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Red, elongated plum-shaped tomatoes. Grower tip on size: While official descriptions often state they can reach massive sizes up to 500 g (1.1 lbs), growing them in shaded areas will significantly reduce the fruit size (averaging around 150 g / 5.3 oz).
- 👅 Flavor & Use: Has a standard, classic tomato flavor without noticeable sweetness. Because of its dense plum shape and traditional flavor, it is best utilized as a paste/canning tomato.
- ⏳ Yield & Climate: Yields are slightly above average, even when planted in less-than-ideal, shaded locations.

A mid-late season variety, outdoors in open ground it grew to a height of 0.8 m (2.6 ft). The fruits are red, elongated plums. Mine weighed up to 150 grams (5.3 oz), although the official description says they can reach up to 500 grams (1.1 lbs)—but my bush was growing in a shaded area.
The taste of the fruits is a regular tomato flavor, without any sweetness. The yield was slightly above average.
