And for me in the open ground outdoors (though in warm raised beds), it was about 1.6m (5.2 ft), similar to Purple Russian. But the official description says up to 2m. Apparently, this tomato feels great everywhere! Super variety!!! 👍
In the greenhouse, this variety will be tall, just like all indeterminate varieties. In the open ground, it will be about half as tall.
Everyone is praising Black Icicle to the skies 🤫, but I wouldn’t say it’s incredibly tasty, maybe a solid 4 out of 5. 🤫
Yes, in the greenhouse the plants are tall, above 1.7-1.8 m (5.5-6 ft). I grew 2 plants, absolutely identical, except on one I got icicles, and on the other, I got black spheres (off-type cross) 🙂

Sveta, they need more sun, just like all dark/black varieties. In the thread about black tomatoes, could you list the varieties that you found tastier? That info would be very useful for many people.
My Black Icicle turned out a little bit different in shape, but my mom’s verdict was: we are definitely planting it next year, it’s absolutely perfect for pickling/canning.

Galochka, you shouldn’t have any problems with it. Mine grew outdoors in the open ground, and I wouldn’t even say it was the best spot. Everything will work out great for you 🌸🌸🌸
