Quick Summary of Bleeding Heart
- 🌍 Origin & Name: Another masterpiece bred by Brad Gates (Wild Boar Farms). While the name might sound a bit dramatic, Bleeding Heart is actually the common English name for the beautiful Dicentra flower. The tomato was named for its stunning heart shape and vibrant striping.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate. It grows vigorously and tall, reaching up to 6.5 ft (2 meters) when grown in a greenhouse.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Medium-sized heart-shaped fruits (oxhearts). The skin is a striking red-orange base covered with beautiful yellow and gold stripes.
- 👅 Flavor Profile: Highly praised for its excellent taste. It is notably sweet with a refreshing, fruity tartness that perfectly balances the flavor.
- 📈 Yield: Very productive, consistently setting fruit throughout the season.
