📌 Quick Summary (TL;DR)
- 🌍 Origin: A striking anthocyanin (blue/purple) novelty variety.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate, mid-season. It grows very vigorously and produces a lot of suckers/side shoots quickly, so regular pruning is recommended. Even when started late from seed, it performs well outdoors, reaching about 1.1 meters (3.6 ft) in open ground.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Small, cocktail-sized fruits. Where exposed to the sun, they develop a stunning deep blue/purple coloration. The bottoms ripen to a dark red.
- 👅 Flavor & Use: Has a nice, classic “tomato” flavor. They are juicy and look absolutely beautiful when sliced open.
- ⏳ Highlight: This is a perfect variety for those who love growing exotic tomatoes for pure enjoyment and for those seeking the potential health benefits of anthocyanin-rich (blue) foods!
A mid-season indeterminate variety. In open ground, it reached a height of 1.1 meters (3.6 ft), though I started it from seed late—in early April. It quickly overgrows with suckers.
The fruits are small, closer to cocktail size, blue-red (mine turned out more on the blue side). The taste is a nice tomato flavor, not bad. The tomatoes are juicy, beautiful on the cross-section, and the yield is good.
This is a variety for those who love exotic tomatoes for the soul and pure enjoyment, and also for those who believe that blue tomatoes are healthier than all others due to the anthocyanins found in them (but just in case, I HAVEN’T studied the anthocyanin issue in detail! 😆).
