The old heirloom Bonner Beste. It’s a tall, indeterminate vine that produces heavy trusses (clusters). Mid-early season.

It is incredibly productive and sets fruit continuously with zero blossom drop, completely unfazed by the weather. Highly disease resistant, too.

The fruits are on the smaller side and perfectly uniform—exactly like ping-pong balls. Bright red. The flesh is meaty and sweet, but definitely not bland; it has a really nice slight tangy kick to it.

They ripen early and really hold us over while we’re waiting for the big beefsteaks / slicers to mature. If you catch them before they get overripe and soft, they are perfect for whole-fruit canning.

I absolutely love this variety and have been growing it for several years now. It’s a staple for me.
