Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zones 3-8 Experience)
Green Doctors Cherry.
Got the seeds from Kholyavko, the description said: mid-early, up to 6.5 ft (2 m), yellowish-green, round, 0.3-0.5 oz (10-15 g).
Mine were a bit shorter outdoors, but they were growing right in the flowers, so they just didn’t have enough space in the beds. Tasty, on the sweet side.

Mine grew to be just super sweet. Like good grapes.
Seeds from A. Kulik. I grew about 20 varieties, and Green Doctors easily made my top 5 sweetest. Mine were a bit on the small side since I never got around to suckering the cherries in time. So they were all small, but there were a ton of them.. 😄 Definitely growing this one again. Reached over 6.5 ft (2 m) tall outdoors.

Could you share your top five sweetest, please?
I’m looking for a tomato that tastes similar to Green Doctors Frosted after it gets hit with a light frost — it gets incredibly sweet, I’ve never tasted anything quite like it before.
Disease Resistance & Greenhouse Growing
Variety from a very old Pomidom seed packet.
I’ve been growing it for many years. One of the absolute best green-fruited cherry varieties.
It only has one major plus, but it’s a huge one – it doesn’t get hit by leaf mold. Its biggest minus is that it cracks from irregular watering.
The variety is sweet and highly productive.
Last year, in 2022, I decided not to plant it – and it popped right up as a volunteer in the greenhouse. I don’t grow anything else like it, so it was definitely it. Unheated greenhouse.
Here are photos of this volunteer. It only managed to ripen three big trusses, the rest didn’t have time – basically, you definitely want to start this one from transplants like normal.
When grown properly from transplants, I think I counted 13 trusses on three stems once.
It’s a plant with a massive thirst for growth. Very vigorous. Very responsive to feeding. Reluctant to drop its blossoms in the heat. It doesn’t like being out in the open dirt – it just stalls out there, so it’s much better to plant it in a greenhouse.
Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste, and Disease Resistance
- 🌿 Plant: A highly vigorous, indeterminate green cherry tomato that routinely reaches over 6.5 ft (2 m). It is a heavy feeder that prefers greenhouse environments in cooler climates, as it can stall when grown outdoors. Notably immune to leaf mold (Cladosporium).
- 📈 Yield: Extremely heavy yielder. Growers report massive production, with up to 13 complex trusses on a pruned 3-stem plant.
- 👅 Taste: Universally praised for its intense sweetness, often compared to good grapes. Frequently makes growers’ lists of top five sweetest tomatoes.
- 💧 Watering & Splitting: The primary drawback of Green Doctors is its susceptibility to cracking and splitting if watering is inconsistent.
- 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Four growers contributed reviews, gardening across a wide range of climates from USDA Zone 3 (Siberia) to Zone 8.
