Quick Summary of Hidden Treasures of A Timeless

  • 🌍 Origin: A legendary heirloom variety with Italian roots, widely cherished in the Russian collector community (often circulated under the translated name Taynye Sokrovishcha Vechnosti).
  • 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall), mid-season variety. Most growers cultivate it in greenhouses where it shows exceptional vigor.
  • 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Absolutely beautiful pink oxhearts. They vary in size on the same plant, ranging from smaller hearts up to massive 500 g (1.1 lbs) plump, slightly ribbed beauties. They grow in impressive, multi-fruit clusters.
  • 👅 Flavor & Quality: The taste is universally praised as sweet, rich, and juicy. It’s considered one of the top favorites for fresh eating by almost everyone who grows it.
  • ☀️ Heat Tolerance (Take Note): The consensus on heat tolerance is mixed but mostly positive. Growers in cooler zones (Siberia/Moscow) report that it handles greenhouse heat waves perfectly without dropping blossoms. However, a grower in extreme steppe heat (Kazakhstan) noted that it stopped setting fruit completely during peak summer and only resumed when temperatures dropped in autumn.

Grew 1 bush in the greenhouse in 2021. A very beautiful tomato, but in my conditions, alas, it turned out unproductive and bland. I was really upset. I wanted it so much and then this happened. Hays and Yoder’s German Pink were many times more productive and tastier.

In fact, it was just too hot for it; when the temperatures dropped, it started setting fruit like crazy, but there was no point anymore – it was already September.

The treasure of the 2022 season! Despite the weather, it fruited in full clusters of plump hearts of a beautiful dark pink color, mid-season ripening, sown on 7.03, polycarbonate greenhouse.

Thanks to Innochka @Inn@ for the seeds!

Tell me, how does it react to high temperatures in the greenhouse? Does it hold the fruit set or drop blossoms?

It grew on the edge in a polycarbonate greenhouse. And there was heat – the doors were opened when there were high temperatures. It set quite a lot of fruit, so I didn’t notice it dropping blossoms. After fruit set, I did a moderate pruning of the leaves. In OG (open ground) it was also not bad, but fewer tomatoes.

Excellent variety, productive. Grew right in the blazing heat, didn’t drop any blossoms.
