Quick Summary of Yustina (Justyna)
- 🌍 Origin: A highly regarded cocktail-sized heirloom variety popular in Eastern European collections. The name is Justyna (often transliterated as Yustina).
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (vining) with medium vigor and regular foliage. It responds exceptionally well to minimal pruning (growers recommend pruning suckers only up to the first truss, then letting it branch out into multiple stems). It easily reaches the greenhouse roof.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Stunning yellow-orange oval cocktail tomatoes (large cherries) with a charming little “beak” (nipple) on the blossom end. They typically weigh about 25-30g (approx. 1 oz).
- 👅 Flavor & Texture: Known for being exceptionally sweet, firm, and crunchy. They have a very long shelf life after picking and are absolutely perfect for whole-canning in small jars.
- 💡 Comparisons: Growers frequently put Justyna on the exact same pedestal as legendary artisan varieties like Candy Sweet Icicle and Blush.
Yustina (Justyna). A wonderful, productive cocktail variety (based on fruit weight). Indet, grew in the greenhouse, I pruned the suckers only up to the first truss. A long, extended fruiting period, the bush is completely hung with clusters of yellow-orange oval fruits with a charming “beak”. Weight is about 25-30g (1 oz), the taste is sweet, the fruits are firm, crunchy, and store well. It has registered for permanent residency in my collection for ever and ever, right alongside Candy Sweet Icicle and Blush.
Seeds were from Masha-Murka.

Sveta, tell me please, what kind of bush does it have? Something about the look of mine really confuses me. It’s somehow all droopy, with thin leaves. Or is it supposed to be like that? I’m worried it might be sick. Plus, a mole went along the edge of my greenhouse like an excavator, right exactly in the spot where she is growing. Maybe it damaged the roots.

Justyna has a normal bush, medium vigor, medium leaf size. I pruned it up to the first truss, and then it branched out into several stems all the way to the roof of the greenhouse. The mole probably damaged your root system. Dig around a little, are there any air pockets/voids under the bush? Water it, give it some fertilizer.
So beautiful) I want it for myself now.
