Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zone 4 Experience)
Strong, vigorous indeterminate vine with dense foliage cover, mid-season. Grew a few plants both in the greenhouse and outdoors under temporary hoop cover. Even though I started seeds pretty late in early April, it still put on an impressive crop of large, red plum-shaped tomatoes.
Trusses held 3-4 fruits each, running 6-7.8 oz (170-220 g) and bigger. Dense, meaty interior, but still plenty juicy. Flavor was very solid in my book, well balanced with a good harmony of sweetness and tang. Firm skin too, so the tomatoes keep for quite a while after picking. Got the seeds from Tatiana Kouchnareva.

Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage
- 🌿 Plant & Origin: An open-pollinated variety originating from Nebraska, USA (surfaced around 2007). Grows as a vigorous indeterminate vine with heavy, protective foliage. Mid-season maturity. Performs reliably in unheated high tunnels as well as in-ground under temporary early-season hoop covers.
- 📈 Yield: Heavy producer. Trusses reliably set 3-4 large red plum tomatoes weighing 6-7.8 oz (170-220 g) and up, even when started late from seed.
- 👅 Taste & Texture: Dense and meaty with substantial juice. Clean, well-rounded heirloom flavor balancing rich sweetness and tart notes.
- 📦 Storage: Long keeper. The firm, protective skin prevents splitting and holds up remarkably well in post-harvest storage.
- 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Yaroslavna (Natalya) in Northern Yaroslavl Region (USDA Zone 4), a short, cool-climate zone similar to northern Minnesota or Wisconsin.
