Growers’ Notes and Photos (Indoor Winter Grow)
Seeds from Alexey Kulik.
Description from his catalog: Early season, determinate bush. Grows up to 1.5 ft (0.5 m) tall. Fruit weight up to 1 oz (30 g). Fantastic yield, fruits are firm and super glossy.
I grew mine right on the windowsill in a half-gallon (2-liter) pot. Started the seeds in December. I actually pinched all the suckers because the bush kept getting top-heavy and tipping over—the pot was just too small, and there was no way to set up a stake in it.
The taste is your classic tomato flavor with a little tang. The fruits are nice and firm, making them excellent for whole-fruit canning or just snacking. The skin is perfectly fine, not too thick at all.
Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage
- 🌿 Plant: A highly compact micro-dwarf determinate that stays under 1.5 ft (0.5 m). It is exceptionally well-suited for small containers (as small as a half-gallon / 2 liters) and indoor windowsill growing. Note that if grown in a very small, light pot, it can become top-heavy when loaded with fruit, so pruning suckers or providing a small stake is recommended.
- 📈 Yield: Rated as fantastic. It produces heavy clusters of bright red cherry tomatoes.
- 👅 Taste: A traditional, old-school tomato flavor with a pleasant tart tang, rather than pure sweetness.
- 📦 Texture/Usage: The 1 oz (30 g) cherries are very firm with a beautiful, glossy finish. They hold their shape perfectly, making them an excellent choice for whole-fruit canning, salads, or fresh snacking right off the indoor bush.
