TRIUMF SOFII (SOFIA’S TRIUMPH). A VARIETY BY SOFIA SAAKOVA.
AUTHOR’S DESCRIPTION:
Mid-season, the plant grows 6 ft (1.8 m) tall in the greenhouse. The fruits are 7-17.5 oz (200-500 g) and bigger, of fairy-tale beauty: tall, flat-round with a little beak, emerald-colored and painted with raspberry, red and yellow patterns. Such beauty simply takes your breath away. The flesh is tricolored, buttery and veeery delicious. The favorite of my breeding!
For me, it was highly productive and absolutely gorgeous. The only drawback is poor storage (short shelf life).

- 👅 Taste: The breeder’s description calls the flesh buttery and “veeery delicious” and names it the favorite of her breeding. Murka finds it extremely sweet, and Svetikk calls it a very beautiful and delicious variety, “simply a masterpiece”.
- 📦 Storage: Poor. Khrizantema57 names short shelf life as the only drawback.
- 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Three growers so far, all in USDA Zone 4 (Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod regions), a short-season climate like much of the northern US and Canada.
