Quick Summary of Triumf Sofii (Sofia’s Triumph)
- 🌍 Origin: A breathtaking, modern artisanal variety developed by the famous Russian tomato breeder Sofia Saakova. It is widely considered one of the crown jewels of her collection.
- 🌿 Plant Habit: Indeterminate (tall), mid-season variety. Reaches about 1.8 meters (6 ft) in a greenhouse.
- 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Visually stunning tricolor/bicolor tomatoes. They are high-oblate (tall and flattened) and often feature a cute little “beak” or point at the blossom end. The skin is a mesmerizing mix of emerald green painted with raspberry, red, and yellow patterns. They grow very large, typically 200-500 g (7-17.5 oz), with many exceeding that weight.
- 👅 Flavor & Texture: The interior flesh is tricolored, incredibly buttery, and extremely sweet. Sofia herself calls it “oooovery delicious” and the absolute favorite of her breeding work.
- ⏳ Yield & Storage (Take Note): It is highly productive. However, due to its delicate, buttery flesh, growers note a significant drawback: poor shelf life. These must be enjoyed fresh shortly after picking.
