Nasha Masha F1 (Our Masha) Tomato Review

Share your rating
🍅 Quick take: Nasha Masha F1 (Our Masha F1) is aт indeterminate hybrid known for its solid disease resistance, particularly against leaf mold (Cladosporium). It produces blocky, red 6.3-10.5 oz (180-300 g) slicing tomatoes. While growers praise its vigor and yield, the consensus is that the flavor is fairly average and doesn’t hold a candle to open-pollinated heirlooms. Several growers also reported getting bad seed batches with completely wrong genetics. Full summary ↓

Seeds bred by Ilinichna. Here is the packet description: Slicer. Mid-early. Matures 104 days after germination. Indeterminate, medium-tall plant. Fruits are blocky, slightly ribbed, firm, with green shoulders when unripe, turning solid red when ripe. 4 or more locules. Average weight is 6.3 oz (180 g). Excellent taste. Resistant to Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), Cladosporium (leaf mold), and Fusarium.

Here is a review and photos from AleksandrS:
“I grew Nasha Masha and a few other F1s. Wouldn’t say Masha was a disappointment, but it didn’t exactly blow my mind either. Yield was below average for me, but the tomatoes themselves were pretty solid, around 7-10.5 oz (200-300 g) and very uniform. Don’t really remember the taste, I had way too many delicious heirlooms at the time to bother snacking on hybrids 😆 Bottom line is I might grow it again if I have spare room next year 😉”

I grew Nasha Masha too.

I really liked that it was a nice sturdy plant, very productive, and it absolutely is resistant to leaf mold.

It makes for a good slicer and has plenty of juice.

But flavor-wise, it definitely loses out to open-pollinated heirlooms.

Folks, DO NOT take my “review” as gospel, especially when it comes to the yield. I grew it with absolutely zero fertilizer. I didn’t even waste my compost tea on the hybrids, and barely watered them either 😆 Under normal conditions, it actually sets fruit pretty well 😉

Guess I got a completely crossed batch of seeds then. Straight from the official Ilinichna packet, too. I had 2 vines and both threw out smaller round tomatoes, dropped a lot of blossoms, and tasted like absolutely nothing 😞

Mine were from the Eurosemena brand, and the flavor was totally bland for me too. Round red tomatoes around 7 oz (200 g). I still have another seed packet left, but I definitely won’t be growing it again.

Honestly, something is seriously wrong with this Eurosemena company. You buy regular varieties and they turn out to be hybrids, and their seeds are just mixed up constantly.

Full Summary: Plant, Yield, Taste and Storage

  • 🌿 Plant: Indeterminate, mid-early F1 hybrid. Growers note it is a vigorous, sturdy vine that lives up to its claim of being highly resistant to leaf mold (Cladosporium). The true strain produces slightly ribbed, blocky red fruits weighing 6.3-10.5 oz (180-300 g).
  • 📈 Yield: Generally high, provided the plant is actually fed and watered. It sets fruit reliably under normal growing conditions.
  • 👅 Taste: Unimpressive. Like many commercial hybrids bred for disease resistance and shelf life, the flavor is described as bland or just average compared to open-pollinated heirlooms.
  • ⚠️ Seed Quality Issues: Multiple growers reported getting off-types (wrong seeds) from commercial packets, resulting in small, round, tasteless fruits and poor blossom set.
  • 🌎 Who Reviewed It: Growers across Russia (USDA Zones 3-5).
