Altai Miracle (Chudo Altaya) Siberian Tomato Review

Quick Summary of Chudo Altaya (Altai Miracle)

  • 🌍 Origin: A commercial Russian variety from the Siberian seed company “Semena Altaya” (Altai Seeds). The name translates directly to “Altai Miracle”.
  • 🌿 Plant Habit: Tall indeterminate. The bush is described as having sparse or wispy foliage (not heavily foliated), which is a common and normal trait for many large-fruited Russian/Siberian varieties. It performs reasonably well even in partially shaded greenhouse spots.
  • 🍅 Fruit Characteristics: Large, beautiful pinkish-red beefsteaks. They are very meaty and grow to a substantial size.
  • 👅 Flavor & Texture: Highly praised for its taste. It is sweet, meaty, and very juicy, making it an excellent choice not only for fresh slicing but also for making rich, sweet tomato juice.
  • Maturity: Mid-season.

Grew it in the greenhouse, led it in 2 stems. The bush is tall, not heavily foliated. I grew 2 bushes, both in the shade. One was productive, and the other not so much. A very tasty, sweet, and juicy tomato. Good for juices. Seeds from the “Semena Altaya” company.
