Thank you very much. Very timely information for a beginner like me. Sowed one seed (from a tomato gifted by Maria Suvorova), it’s developing well. We will organize a worthy spot for it. They will definitely ripen on the bush, but as for letting them sit and not eating them immediately… hmm.. hmm.. 😉

The little tomato took the sunniest spot in the corner of the greenhouse by the entrance, there were no close neighbors. Trained it to two stems.
My first dark tomato.
Quite prolific, very tasty, wasn’t capricious (greenhouse doors were open from June to August).

P.S.: Only honest photos! Yes, the fruits cracked. I won’t make excuses. Irregular watering, watering with not-always-warm water, no fertilizers/spraying, and didn’t always pick on time. It was a very hard year, we almost kicked the bucket ourselves.

I got really fired up about “Black with a Spout,” but I’ve already grabbed so many seeds, I only need one packet. So I didn’t dare ask Borisovna, and went looking for easily accessible ones. I found [links to commercial seed packets].

Mine grew outdoors in open ground. Only set two fruits. It overripened on the bush, even cracked. But oh, how sweet it is. And the taste is indescribable, mind-blowing 😍 Now I don’t know who to give the highest score. Black Heart from Borisovna or Marsha’s Starfighter Beefsteak. In terms of taste, both are in the lead so far.
This year I was looking for a spot where Black Heart with a Spout from Borisovna would feel most comfortable, and I found it — the east side of the greenhouse. For the first time, the tomato weighed over 1 kg (2.2 lbs). 🍅
I accidentally stumbled upon a commercial seed website. There were some pink beefsteaks on a plate being sold as “Black Heart from Borisovna,” and the price was absolutely indecent 😂. If you want to grow the real variety, get the seeds from trusted sellers here on the forum in the Market section.

It’s an indeterminate tomato, from 1.5 to 2.5 m (5 to 8 ft) depending on agricultural techniques.
I really wanted to write about the Black with a Spout tomato. I bought it at a mass market. Grew it in the summer of 2024. The taste and yield are superb. Conditions: a greenhouse in the Ivanovo region. The tomato is large. A drawback: if it doesn’t ripen completely, you can see green fibers when sliced. And like all oxhearts, it is not meant for long storage. But they are very tasty.
