Growers’ Notes and Photos (USDA Zones 3-4 Experience)
Dwarf Caitydid. Natalya Pavlovna, thanks for the seeds of this cute little dwarf! Grew it outside. The plant was a real shorty, only about 1.6 feet (0.5 m) tall. Thick foliage. The beefsteaks reached up to 10.5 oz (300 g), yellow-orange-red. Very tasty and sweet. Probably the sweetest tomatoes I had in 2018.

Inna, what beautiful tomatoes you got! And so huge… Awesome job, happy growing!
My top post got kinda mangled when we moved to the new forum software, so I’m updating it here 😊
Caitydid Dwarf
A handsome dwarf with bright bicolor fruits. The breeder Craig LeHoullier named it in honor of his daughter Caitlin. The translation floating around out there as “Katydid” (grasshopper) might actually be a mistake…
When grown in pots, plant height reaches up to 27 inches (70 cm). Beefsteaks are a bright orange color with red splashes over the top, weighing up to 8.8 oz (250 g) and more. Flesh is juicy, aromatic with a refreshing sweet flavor. Good yielder, mid-season.
Full Summary: Plant Habit, Yield, and Flavor Profile
